Wind Resource Estimates for more profitable projects
A local high-resolution wind resource calculation will give you a good opportunity to make a qualified assessment of wind production for a planned wind farm. The calculations are made with our advanced numerical models and/or with wind measurements as a basis.
Calculation with mesoscale model:
The Wind Resource calculation is done with our numerical models. This may mean a more low-resolution mapping (1 km2) over previously not mapped areas, or a high-resolution mapping to zoom into areas already identified as interesting. Resolution is chosen according to your wishes and can, for example, be 500 m, 250 m or 100 m.
The results are delivered in the form of digital maps showing the average winds at different heights and as text files in various formats giving average winds, wind distributions and the Weibull parameters. The results are also synthesized in wind resource files, which can be read directly into WindPRO to calculate the energy production.
Analyses of experimental data:
We quality control your wind measurements and analyze them in terms of average wind, distributions, turbulence, etc. Measurements can be from mast or sodar and results are long-term corrected.
Park calculations:
Production and wake calculation are made using the WAsP model and the park model included into this as tools. The calculations may be based on both the results of our numerical model calculations and on measurements.
Wind resource calculations are made based on your wishes. They consist either of only wind resources or constitute a complete basis from wind to production.
